Alexander Baten-Tschan, M.D.
Dr. Baten-Tschan is a Board-Certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in Glaucoma. His interests include laser-assisted and complex cataract surgery, along with the medical and surgical management of glaucoma, including minimally invasive surgery. He is also trained in the full spectrum of incisional glaucoma surgery. His other interests include new technological advances in the field and international ophthalmology.
Dr. Baten-Tschan grew up in Potomac, Maryland and earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from the University of Maryland in College Park. He completed a Master’s degree in Physiology at Georgetown University. He then attended medical school at the Virginia Commonwealth University (otherwise known as the Medical College of Virginia). He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Penn State University at Hershey Medical Center and his glaucoma fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania Scheie Eye Institute.
When he is not working, he enjoys several hobbies including playing and watching sports, outdoor activities, travelling, and spending time with his wife and family.
