Asima Bajwa, M.D.
Dr. Bajwa is a Board-Certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in Glaucoma and Uveitis. She is an accomplished glaucoma and cataract surgeon and utilizes the latest techniques in microinvasive glaucoma and cataract surgery, including astigmatism-correcting toric and multifocal lenses.
She completed her Glaucoma Fellowship at the Yale Department of Ophthalmology in New Haven, CT. She also completed a Uveitis Clinical Research Fellowship at MERSI with world renowned Dr. Stephen Foster in Boston, MA. During her Ophthalmology Residency at Howard University Hospital, Washington DC, she was honored to serve as Chief Resident. Previously, she graduated from the FJ Medical College and was named the Best Graduate of the Year receiving a Presidential Gold Medal, 5 University Gold Medals, and a Silver Medal. She is also a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist from the College of Physicians & Surgeons, Pakistan.
She has worked at the University of Virginia with Peter A. Netland, MD, PhD as a Glaucoma research coordinator where she also initiated clinical trials. She enjoys volunteering with Humanity First, USA and participated in International Ophthalmology trips to Guatemala and Burkina Faso.
Dr. Bajwa treats patients with glaucoma, uveitis, cataracts, dry eye, and general ophthalmology issues.
