Julia F. Malalis, M.D.

Dr. Malalis is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist with additional subspecialty training in uveitis.  In addition to performing cataract surgery, she has clinical expertise in the diagnosis and medical management of ocular inflammatory conditions.   She also performs comprehensive exams, diabetic eye exams, and glaucoma screening.

She graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Biological Sciences and then received her medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine.  Dr. Malalis completed her ophthalmology residency at Loyola University Medical Center where she served as Chief Resident.  She then completed a clinical uveitis fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.   Dr. Malalis has co-authored articles in journals including Ocular Immunology and Inflammation and Neuro-ophthalmology, and has contributed to book chapters on the management of uveitis.
